1. How long is the Summer recreational swim season?
2. How many days per week is practice offered?

Most weeks practice is offered 5 days per week, unless there is a conflict with an RUSD or City of Rocklin scheduled event
3. How often do swimmers have to practice?

We recommend 3 days per week for optimal improvement and benefit, however we understand that many children participate in other sports and activities so practice participation is flexible. Consider the 3 day mark as an average.
4. What is the practice schedule for the season?

We practice in the evenings from April 2th-June 7th, between 6:00pm-8:45pm

We practice in the mornings from June 11th-July 27th, between 7:00am-11:00am

In general younger age groups practice early during evening practices- exact times will be decided after returning swimmer registration is complete.
5. How many swim meets does my swimmer need to participate in to remain eligible?

Swimmers must swim in a minimum of 2 conference meets to be eligible for Championships at the end of the season.
6. Is there a parent participation requirement?

7. What equipment will my swimmer need for practices and meets?

A sturdy one piece suit for practice for girls and a jammer or racer/speedo for boys. These can be purchased at Costco, through our Team Gear store or at local sporting good stores. For swim meets and team events, team suits are available for purchase through our Team Gear store at a 40% discount off retail. We will have samples to try on at the Ice Breaker event, to ensure a proper fit, before you purchase them.

Goggles, caps for hair longer than 2 inches(boys or girls), and fins are all necessary equipment. It is recommended that swimmers have a tinted pair of goggles, especially for morning practices and meets, when the sun is bright overhead.
8. What will my swimmer need to know/be able to do at try-outs?

6&U's: swimmers should be water safe, able to get in and out of the water on their own accord, perform a basic crawl/freestyle at least 15yd and float on back

7-8's: swimmers should be water safe, able to crawl/freestyle and backstroke 25 yds and have some knowledge of breaststroke and butterfly.

9-12's: ability to swim all strokes 25 yds with some form but not required to be legal for try-outs.

These are minimum requirements and do not guarantee placement on the team.
9. What is the refund policy for clinics and summer program?

Refunds will only be offered before clinics begin less fees incurred by the Rocklin Wave.
